Shoppers can now prepare an order directly on the Mahallak website and contact the merchant through WhatsApp to arrange the details. With the new shopping cart, you can browse store products, collect your favourites and choose quantities before sending a request to the relevant store.
From browsing to preparing your order
On your phone or computer, visit a store page, browse its products, photos and prices, then select “Add to cart” on a product card or product details page. You do not need to download the Mahallak app to prepare an order on the website.
Review your chosen products in the cart, increase or decrease quantities, and remove items before continuing to WhatsApp.
Include the details that matter
Add notes for each product, such as your preferred size, colour or requested extras. These notes are included in your request so the merchant can check and confirm the available options.
When browser storage is available, your cart is saved in the same browser so you can return to your selections later.
Send a clear request directly to the merchant
After reviewing your cart, select “Order via WhatsApp” for the store you want to buy from. The link opens a conversation with the store’s listed WhatsApp number and a prepared message containing product names, quantities, listed prices, notes and product links.
Review the message in WhatsApp and press Send. You can then speak directly with the merchant to confirm availability, options, payment and collection or delivery. Opening WhatsApp alone does not send or confirm an order.
Shopping from several stores? Each gets its own request
You can add products from different stores to your cart. The website groups each store’s products separately and provides its own order button, so each merchant receives only the items selected from their store.
This keeps requests clear and lets you arrange purchasing and delivery terms directly with each store.
Review the subtotal and confirm the details
The cart shows an estimated subtotal for products with listed prices, with separate totals for each currency when needed. Products marked “Price on request” are included in the request but excluded from the subtotal.
The subtotal excludes delivery fees and the cost of extras requested in your notes. Confirm final prices, availability and other details with the merchant before completing the purchase, and arrange payment directly with them.
Another way for local stores to receive requests
This feature gives merchants another way to receive purchase enquiries and requests from website visitors. Instead of typing out every product, shoppers can prepare their selections in the cart and share an organised message through WhatsApp.
Communication stays directly between the shopper and the merchant, allowing them to discuss options, ask questions and confirm the order.
